Prior to joining Point Realty Group, John Jesso has served as the Business Development Manager for Chambliss-Rabil, a full service commercial development firm headquartered in Rocky Mount. Jesso moved to Rocky Mount, N.C. from Charlotte, N.C. where he worked with Wachovia Bank for 18 years in the role of strategic program manager prior to serving a political appointment in Washington, DC in the Office of Federal
Student Aid within the Department of Education. While with Wachovia, Jesso oversaw implementation of the bank’s expansion efforts when it moved into a new territory and was responsible for its growth strategy. The program was successful in positioning Wachovia as a market leader, a community partner and overall, the place to work.
Jesso served two years in Washington, DC where he was appointed to serve on the Strategic Governance Leadership team. The team was charged with creating a collaborative environment where stakeholders can openly share information and ideas, resulting in a more efficient workplace and saving taxpayer dollars.
Soon after moving to Rocky Mount Jesso served the City in the capacity of Downtown Development Director, focusing on Economic Development and Business Retention for the Central City, During his tenure Jesso led a surge in growth from 2014-2018 of $80 million in investment resulting in the creation of commercial and residential spaces as well as multiple of jobs. These efforts led to a year-over-year increase of ad valorem taxes collected.
